| The Irish Property Fiasco

Your freedom... for your box?
- This issue is of the greatest importance.
It bears relevance to every citizen, and every small and struggling enterprise here in Ireland who have fallen prey to the systemic abuse of the property market in this country.
A systemic abuse based on personal greed which has resulted in the devastation of Ireland's economic stability and long term future outlook.
In other words, the future of the Irish people and the country itself, has been sold out from under their feet.
These actions are at the least, ethically and morally criminal, but perhaps they even cross into the territory of treason.
The damning penalisation inflicted upon homeowners and the small and medium enterprises of Ireland is crippling.
It is a direct result of the absolute negligence and lack of balance, care, clarity and honesty that is unfortunately rampant in every facet of the property situation in this country.
What is even more shocking is the total lack of any efforts to address these specific issues.
The credibility of the banks, property market, developers, and yes, even the government itself is shot all to hell, and yet their seems to be no real effort or concern to identify, clarify and correct the very root causes of all our problems.
It's almost as if these "players" for lack of better terminology are hoping to keep it all "hush" in the hopes of abusing the Irish public all over again at a later date.
The consequences and costs of the Bank Bailout, Nama and IMF Intervention that the pubic did not decide on or approve of, is all the more treacherous and perhaps even morally treasonous in given that it has been implemented, in fact, forced upon the people of this country. All by a 'leadership' which was not even truly elected by the people of Ireland.
- Any new leadership needs to prove to the people of this country that its true intentions are to identify and rectify all aspects that allowed this situation to develop, in order to prevent further similar abuse.
A new leadership must be strongly committed to clarifying and dealing effectively with the current imbalances and injustices that have resulted from the gross negligence and perhaps even "occasional(?)" dishonesties that run rampant in all aspects of the Irish property, financing markets and government.
Imbalances and Injustices that have decimated all levels of enterprise, and thrown tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Irish citizens and residents into negative equity, financial chaos and even loss of employment. A situation that has even sadly resulted in destroying countless relationships and an increase in suicides.
